There are two ways to play the game. Be a piece played how a woman was meant to be played. Or learn how to move other pieces without them knowing they’ve been moved. Well, that’s what Lexi’s mother told her. So, when she walked inside the hotel room Josh had acquired for them, she felt like her intuition had run out.
Josh was already there, having a drink he concocted. “For the nerves.” he said taking a sip.
“You may need more than one drink the way your hands are shaking Mr.Bell.” Lexi said dumping her purse that was full of condoms. ”Why so nervous? It’s not like were strangers.”
Before he could answer Lexi’s phone started to ring. It was Laura. Digging in her bag she takes the call outside. Looking over her shoulder she makes sure that Josh is out of range. “The room looks cheap, there are two beds, an outside area, and plus he already started drinking.” Lexi hung up the phone, heading back inside.
“Who was that?” Josh asked, coming out the bathroom.
“Just my client, claiming they need real physical evidence.”
“You know that day in the club I could have avoided you and just went home to my wife.” Josh said.
“But did you” Lexi said staring into his eyes.
“What I’m trying to say is that I could’ve had any woman in the room, but I choose you.” Josh said.
“This isn’t how the game go’s; loser.” Lexi heard her mother’s voice. “I feel like you’re going down an emotional road right now Joshy.” Lexi said smirking walking towards the bed.
“Lexi I’m trying to tell you how I feel.” Josh said trying to look anywhere but at her.
“I can give you a list of how you make me feel.” Lexi said grabbing a condom and rubbing it down her face.
Josh shook his head walking in the bathroom.
“Guess I’ll just go ahead and go fuck myself” Lexi said to the door. Lexi turned and screamed on the condoms, getting out of bed she walked towards the mirror in the room. Lexi could see her mother laughing back at her through the reflection of the glass.
Josh walked out the bathroom.
All Lexi could hear was loser, play the game, give him what he wants Lexi understood. Walking towards him Lexi places her palms against his chest. “I’m sorry I wasn’t listening earlier but I’m here. Let’s sit down, have a drink and talk.” Lexi said going to mix them up some drinks. Glancing over her shoulder Lexi made sure he wasn’t looking. Quickly grasping the blue pill out of her pocket, she dossed his drink. Beat the game Lexi heard. She finished the drinks and sat beside Josh on the bed.
Josh took the drink and downed it in one gulp. “What I was trying to say was-. “he stopped talking, and fanned himself. “Are you hot, its hot.” He took off his shirt.
Lexi could use this, but she knew he would be out in a instant.
“Zzzzzz” Josh was immobile.
Standing up Lexi arranged for the morning.
When the sun finally came out Josh began to stir in his sleep. Turning over Josh saw Lexi was awake and packed. “What’s going on?” Josh said sitting up.
Lexi walked towards him “After last night, can you picture it? You and I together?” Lexi inquired. Before Josh had the period to answer Lexi said “Because I can’t. You’re a married man that nails anything he can find on his ‘work trips’ using her fingers to quote the words.
Josh stood up baffled “Who do you think your talking to?” he said. Feeling a breeze Josh rushed to the bathroom, realizing he was stark-naked. Later there was a knock at the door.
Lexi strode to the door and unfastened it. Before she could say anything, the women shoved in.
“I paid you in advance because I understood you was suitable for the job” The women said looking around the room.
“First of all, I required you to pay me in advance because most women don’t like to pay the women who just had sex with their husband” Lexi said still standing at the open door.
Walking out the bathroom Josh looked up “Honey” he said releasing the rag in his hand.
“Second of all” Lexi said opening her purse “Here’s that physical evidence you requested Mrs.Bell” she said smirking flinging a filled rubber at her feet. BEAT THE GAME. BEAT THE GAME. Is all Lexi could hear inside her head as she shut the door.
