Logan stood inside the state prison with only one more gate separating him from his freedom.
Months had gone by slow for Logan Sinclair and finally June had arrived. His parole hearing came and his good behavior record spoke for itself. By July, his lawyer had secured his early release. Fashioned with an ankle monitoring bracelet that would keep him at home with his wife and family.
“You ready, Mr. Sinclair?” His lawyer asked.
Logan nodded. He was dressed in a simple polo and relaxed jeans. It was nice to be in regular clothes again. Anything was better than a jumpsuit. “I couldn’t be more ready.”
The gate slid open and Logan squinted in the bright sun as he made his way out. Cameras flashed in his face as his lawyer led him toward the waiting car. Logan held his hand up to shield his eyes and he searched the crowd for a familiar face.
There she was. Fresh and smiling, her brown hair swept off of her beautiful face. Elizabeth promised she’d be there and he was happy to see she kept her word. Though, there was very little real doubt that she would. She bit her lip with anticipation and rushed toward him.
Logan broke away from his lawyer and ignored the questions from reporters, as Elizabeth all but leapt into his arms like she had always done when they were younger. Freshly married. Logan swung her around and kissed her, Elizbeth’s arms drawing him in even closer.
“What are your plans, Mr. Sinclair? Are you returning to your Hamilton Springs home?”
Elizabeth’s smile stretched wide just for him. “I missed you.”
Logan missed her, too. He would’ve told her as much if it wasn’t for the microphone shoved under his nose. But he’d show her that night and the night after. He was back with his beautiful bride and nothing would tear them apart again.
“Mr. Sinclair? Where are you going to be living while you continue your parole?”
“Sweet Falls, of course!” Logan said with a laugh. “My daughter’s getting married! I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
All of Sweet Falls gathers for the wedding of the year as Mitch and Ally prepare to say I do. But with Logan Sinclair back in their lives, will the wedding go off without a hitch? Or is it destined to go down in flames?
