INTRODUCTION

How many times have you heard non-scrappers say, “I just don’t have the time to scrapbook”? I have felt that way myself many times, but scrapbooking is so much more than just a hobby or a means of preserving memories to me. It is my creative outlet and my method of self-expression, so I make time for it as often as I can.

When I first started scrapbooking, I labored over my pages for an exorbitant amount of time, piling on the products and making sure every detail was attended to. (What was I thinking?!) But as the years went by, my family and my responsibilities grew while my time to scrapbook shrank. No more five-hour layouts for me! I needed to find a way to speed up my work without losing my creativity or the joy I found in scrapbooking.

I began to look for ways to use more photos and fewer products and to pull everything together quickly while still creating pages I could be proud of. This simple idea became the topic for a convention class, which in turn inspired this book. Let’s face it, we all are busy.
