Add impact to a bland wall by installing a simple and inexpensive trim profile to create an oversized panel, then apply decorative wallpaper to the interior of the panel. It’s easier to install wallpaper in a smaller area, and since you’ll need less to achieve the effect, you’ll save money too. I jump at any opportunity to layer colour and patterns together, so this tactic is a winning strategy in my book.
If drama is what you’re after, try juxtaposing overscaled swing-arm lamps with more traditionally styled bedside tables. The height of the lamps helps balance the tall headboard, while the buttery tone of the painted tables reinforces the light and airy mood of the overall scheme.
