LIZARD |
Utthan-pristhâsana
This pose tones the thighs, legs, and hips. It opens your child’s torso and hips. Additionally, it improves the flexibility of the knees, wrists, and elbows.
1. Start on all fours.
2. Bring your left foot flat to the outside of your left hand.
3. Extend the right leg backward.
4. Bend your elbows and place your forearms on the floor.
5. Lower your stomach as close to the floor as you can. You are a lizard basking in the sun. Hold the pose for a few seconds, breathing normally.
6. Switch sides.
Like the standing or sitting postures, the lying postures (activities 67 to 83) can be realized in sequences, with forward-backward stretching, spine twisting, and open leg variations. Their objective is essentially to improve spine flexibility and body relaxation (crocodile, happy baby). It is recommended that the poses be practiced on a mat or a firm and flat floor, but not on a bed.
