DOWNWARD-FACING DOG |
Adhomukhasvanasana
This pose stretches your child’s shoulders, calves, and hands. It strengthens arms and legs. If practiced with one leg up, it helps develop balance.
1. Get on all fours.
2. Put your weight on your hands. Inhale as you bring your buttocks up.
3. Legs and arms remain extended. Your head is in between your arms.
4. Try to lift one foot up and extend your leg, if possible.
5. Breathe normally, holding the pose for a few seconds.
6. Exhale as you come back to your initial position.
7. Repeat three times, alternating sides.
The younger ones might enjoy barking when in full pose. If the pose seems too difficult to do alone, help your child raise their leg up.
