It is common practice to introduce a subject by situating it in its proper context. However, in the case of this introduction to biodynamics, I have deliberately placed it at the end in order to reserve the first part for the most practical questions, those which concern you directly as a wine lover. So this fourth part is addressed to those who would like to know more about the historical and cultural background. Here I will talk less about the vine and wine, and more about an understanding of the living world, a vision of the universe, and even philosophy.
Some of these ideas or advanced theories may surprise you or even shock you. Yet, mentioning them here allows you to situate biodynamic practices in a larger scheme, and to discern their reasoning more clearly.
