You return to your lodgings and get ready for bed. But you can’t fall asleep. You’re worried about Edward and Bartholomew.

Several hours later, the other boys slip into the room. As Edward lights a candle, you see that his face is pale. “What happened after I left?” you ask him.

“The Redcoats fired on the crowd,” Edward replies. “Eleven men were shot. Sam Gray was killed. So was Crispus Attucks. I’m not sure about the rest.”

The next day, the soldiers are arrested. Once the soldier’s trials are over, you hope Boston will be peaceful again.
