You remain in the barracks. You hear the angry shouts of the mob, followed by musket blasts. Later that night, one of the men who had gone with Preston says, “We had no choice. If we hadn’t shot into the crowd, they would have killed us.”
Captain Preston is arrested very early the next morning. A few hours later, the eight soldiers who were with him turn themselves in to the authorities. Within a few days, the rest of the soldiers in Boston are moved to Castle William. This fort is on Castle Island, 3 miles from shore in Boston Harbor. By the time the trials begin, you are off on another mission for the king.
