You find Christopher hauling charcoal near Mrs. Apthorp’s house. You hear people shouting from the street. “What’s going on?” you ask him.
A crowd tosses rocks at a nearby house, breaking windows. Chris tells you it’s Ebenezer Richardson’s home. “He’s a tax collector for the British. He tried to stop a Sons of Liberty protest. Now they’re teaching him a lesson.”
A man tosses a bat through a window. Richardson appears at one of the broken windows. He aims a musket at the crowd. “Stand off, or I’ll fire,” he yells.
Chris bends down to pick up a stone. “No, Chris!” you yell. But it’s too late. Richardson pulls the trigger, and Chris crumples to the ground. Several men pick him up and carry him away.
