Underbed Storage

A standard twin-size bed conceals at least 15 cubic feet of storage space beneath the box spring. Put that valuable space to good use with this underbed storage box. Designed to roll easily in and out from under your bed, it is the perfect spot to store just about anything. And if you use aromatic cedar for the compartment lids, clothing items will be safe from moths and other pests.

Construction of the underbed storage box is very simple. It is basically a pine frame with a center divider and cleats for the lids and the bottom panels. We mounted bed-box rollers at all four corners so the box can slide easily. Bed-box rollers are special wheels that can be purchased at most hardware stores or woodworker’s stores—because they are hard plastic, they will not damage or discolor your carpeting.
