Almond Cookies III
Ingredients
- 2 cups butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole almonds
Direction
- Cream almond extract, sugar, and butter together in a large bowl until they become smooth. Combine salt and flour. Then stir into butter mixture until they are well blended. Place in the refrigerator, covered, for 3-4 hours or up to overnight.
- Start preheating oven to 300°
F (150°
C). Drop cookies onto cookie sheets by teaspoonfuls. Using bottom of a glass, slightly press down. Arrange on top each cookie with a whole almond.
- Bake in prepared oven until firm, about half an hour. Discard the cookies from the cookie sheets. Place on wire racks to cool.
