Farm Macaroons
Ingredients
- 4 egg whites
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 1/4 cups white sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 cups flaked coconut
Direction
- Set the oven to 300°
F (150°
C), and start preheating. Grease and flour the cookie sheet.
- Beat cream of tartar, almond extract, vanilla extract and egg whites together in a medium bowl until forming soft peaks. Slowly beat in the sugar; then whip until stiff. In a separate bowl, toss coconut, salt and flour together; fold into egg whites. Drop by tablespoonfuls in a heaping manner to the greased and floured cookie sheet.
- Bake in the prepared oven for 18 - 20 minutes, or until slightly golden. Cool on the baking sheet to easily remove.
