Maple Pecan Crisps
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon maple flavored extract
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Direction
- Set the oven to 190°
C or 375°
F to preheat.
- Cream together 3/4 cup of white sugar, brown sugar and butter, then stir in maple extract and vanilla, beating about one minute. Beat in egg until just combined. Put in pecans and mix on low speed until pecans are distributed evenly throughout the batter. Put in flour and mix on medium speed, until flour is blended completely.
- Form dough into balls, 1 1/2 to 2 inches size. Coat balls with extra white sugar, then arrange on grease-free cookie sheets, spaced 2 inches between. Use your hand or a cookie stamp to flatten ball to the thickness of 1/4 inch. Bake cookies until edges are browned lightly, about 7-9 minutes. Allow cookies to cool about 1-2 minutes on baking sheet prior to removing to a wire rack to complete cooling.
