Meringue Cookies
Ingredients
- 2 egg whites
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Direction
- Set the oven to 150°
C or 300°
F to preheat. To avoid burning, you may bake on an air cushion baking sheet or put on a regular cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Beat together vanilla, cream of tartar, salt and egg whites until extremely firm. Put in sugar slowly and mix well, then stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop on pan with teaspoonfuls of the mixture. Bake at 300
° for about 25 minutes. They should just be browned lightly.
