Soft Molasses Cookies IV
Ingredients
- 1 cup margarine
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 cup unsulfured molasses
- 4 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon instant coffee granules
- 3/4 cup milk
- 4 tablespoons raisins
Direction
- Preheat the oven to 190°
C or 375°
F. Slightly oil a couple of cookie sheets.
- Cream together the lard and sugar in a big bowl. Slowly stir in molasses and egg. Sift together the cloves, instant coffee, dry mustard, ginger, baking soda and flour; mix this into creamed mixture alternating with milk.
- Onto the prepped cookie sheets, drop the cookie dough by heaping teaspoonfuls. Into the middle of each, push 1 maraschino cherry or raisin. In the prepped oven, allow to bake for 15 minutes. Take off from baking sheets to let cool on wire racks.
