Epilogue

That Ol’ Black Magic

Calgary Herald, the morning after the Stampede

Reigning champion Matt Dillon failed to show up for the rodeo finals, and the favorite to take over Dillon’s position as world champion saddle bronc rider, Chance Mayfair, claimed to have received a visitation from Epona, goddess of horses. Mayfair claims this apparition told him that if he ever rode a horse at the Calgary stampede again, he’d become infected with a mysterious flesh-eating disease and would never ride again.

Sources reveal that Mr. Mayfair is under the care of a local psychiatrist who suspects that stress and a recent emotional breakup with his long-term partner seem to have caused Mr. Mayfair to have hallucinations. No further information is being released. Texas cowboy Darcy Harkins took home top money in the saddle bronc riding.

The End.
