About the Authors

Kay Hanifen was born on a Friday the 13th and once lived for three months in a haunted castle. So, obviously, she had to become a horror writer. Her work has appeared in over fifty anthologies and magazines. This is her first time managing and editing an anthology. When she’s not consuming pop culture with the voraciousness of a vampire at a 24-hour blood bank, you can usually find her with her black cats or at kayhanifenauthor.wordpress.com.

David Washburn lives in the Greater Cincinnati area (in Northern Kentucky for any locals who choose to argue about geography) where he lives with his two teen sons and the lady of the house. When David isn’t fighting imposter syndrome as a writer he is probably working out, watching horror movies, baseball, or wrestling.

Suspense and Tension are David’s playground and he has independently self-published multiple books in addition to having short stories published in several anthologies.

Greta T. Bates resides in a quaint, coastal town and considers herself a beach person, a winter beach person. Summers find her indoors, writing and editing and waiting for fall. She writes stories that explore lost love, revenge, and the struggle of being a human, told through the lens of horror. A Mills College alumna, she has been featured in several online publications and her poetry can be found in Dream, 2nd edition, and Shards, both publications of Ravens Quoth Press. Greta has fire sign short stories in Horror Scope-A Zodiac Anthology, volumes 1 and 3. And, she is the proud author of Wounded. Look for her second novella in the Wounded series, Hazed, coming soon!!!

Currently, she is working on her first novel. Greta lives in Fairhope, AL with her small fam, 3 cats, and her little dog too.

Zach Swasta is originally from Horseheads, NY and has been writing for many years in many different mediums. His biggest passion for writing is playwriting and screenwriting. Zach’s first horror publication came in 2023, when his short story, “With Great Power”, was included in the anthology, Horrorscope: Vol. II. He is also the playwright of two produced plays: “Solvarance: The Belligerent”, and “Black Saturday”. Zach is a passionate storyteller and especially loves spooky stories—so much so that he even works as a ghost tour guide in Boston. You can expect more stories from him, written and visual, in the future. Follow him on instagram! @zachzilla26

Nikki Kossaris was born loving all things spooky and fell in love with horror novels when she was seven. When not reading or writing, she enjoys cooking, horror movies and adventures. Nick Aucoin is an author, screenwriter, actor, and filmmaker. His love of the horror genre began when his father showed him Jaws at a young age (yes, he considers it to be a horror film). His writing has been featured in anthologies such as Gridiron Gates of Hell, The Midnight Collection: Feast & Famine, and the first two HorrorScope volumes. Outside of the print publishing world, he’s worked on a variety of short films, podcasts, a web series, and a video game. He co-founded The Murder Associates Productions - an indie horror production company - in 2024. In his rare free-time, Nick enjoys day trips, consuming media, and spending time with his loved ones. He’s a native to Massachusetts, USA. You can connect with Nick on Instagram @aucoinhorror

Julia C. Lewis is a book reviewer, editor, and writer. Her work has appeared in anthologies such as Blackberry Blood, From the Yonder and Slash-Her. She was born and raised in Germany, and also currently lives there after spending some time in the US. Her heart belongs to her husband, two kids, and three dogs. Her favorite book genre is horror with a particular taste in indie horror.

Loki DeWitt has lived in a number of different places but currently lives in Arkansas. He has loved horror since a very young age when he was introduced to the genre by watching a number of 80s horror movies with his dad, (who ironically enough was a mall Santa) despite his mom's protests. Years later he began writing in the dreaded land of fan fiction. While his stories were not original, they did allow him to sharpen his skills for the days ahead when he would tell his own stories. Now an adult, Loki still retains his overactive imagination and takes great pleasure in unleashing it on readers.

M. Rook Grimsley is a horror writer from the Mississippi delta. She has been writing her weird stories since she was seven years old, and they've only gotten weirder.

She now resides in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas with her family. Her influences include Edgar Allen Poe, Isaac Asimov, Stephen King, and L. M. Montgomery.
