215. The Platterhof on the Obersalzberg.

The fabulous new Platterhof Hotel, having cost much more than was originally estimated during its two-year construction, opened on 1 September 1941. Using only the finest quality materials available, the new Platterhof had been conceived as a ‘people’s hotel’ to accommodate the Party faithful. In reality it became a showpiece to accommodate visiting dignitaries.
