The following section, postcards numbers 229 to 241 deals with the country home of Hermann Göring and his family on the Obersalzberg. The Göring home, unlike Hitler’s residence nearby was not extensively photographed; consequently postcards depicting Göring’s property are limited and quite scarce.
The house itself was situated in the same region of the Obersalzberg as the Bormann family home. That said its location probably offered Göring more privacy than any other resident living on the mountain. It has been stated that the property occupied one of the most beautiful parts of the Obersalzberg. Hermann Göring, unlike his neighbour Martin Bormann, enjoyed a high level of popularity with the people of Berchtesgaden due to his decent attitude towards them.
