29. Munich. Brown House with Führer House and Ehrentempel.

The view across the Königsplatz and down Brienner Strasse towards the Obelisk in Karolinenplatz. It was along this stretch of the Brienner Strasse that many Nazi office buildings were located. By late 1939 the Party had over 6,000 people employed in this small area alone, the building on the right was the Verwaltungsbau der NSDAP (NSDAP Administration Building). Today the building serves as a museum and associated offices. Beyond the Obelisk and at the other end of Brienner Strasse one finds the Feldherrnhalle. This particular image shows the buildings on either side of the street to be a perfect mirror image of each other, behind the Ehrentempel on the left stands the Brown House. This part of Munich survived heavy Allied bombing during the latter stages of the Second World War with little damage.
