Calvados Cocktails
The most famous of the apple brandies comes from a region of Lower Normandy, where juice from choice apples is fermented into apple cider, double-distilled, and aged in oak barrels. À votre santé!

2 ounces calvados
2 ounces DeKuyper apple schnapps
1 ounce apple juice
Combine ingredients in mixing glass. Add ice, shake, and strain into glass.
CALVADOS
AU CITRON
Apple brandy with lemon
2 ounces calvados
1 ounce lemon juice
½ ounce simple syrup
Lemon slice for garnish
Combine liquid ingredients in mixing glass. Add ice and shake. Strain into glass and garnish.

COOLER
With equal parts brandy and gin
2 ounces calvados
2 ounces gin
½ ounce lemon juice
½ ounce grenadine
Club soda
Lemon twist for garnish
Combine calvados, gin, juice, and grenadine in mixing glass. Add ice, shake, and pour with ice into glass. Top with club soda to taste and garnish.

ROSE
A calvados version of the Jack Rose, a classic applejack cocktail from the Prohibition era
1½ ounces calvados
Juice of half a lime
1 teaspoon grenadine
Combine ingredients in mixing glass. Add ice, shake, and strain into glass.

Simple and satisfying
2 ounces calvados
2 ounces Dubonnet Rouge
Lemon twist for garnish
Combine brandy and Dubonnet in mixing glass. Add ice and shake. Pour with ice into glass and garnish.
