Jesus said, “Do not give what is holy to dogs, lest they throw them on the dung heap. Do not throw the pearls [to] swine, lest they ... it [...]”
The disciple and apostle of the Anointed One bears a threefold ordination and ministry. First, to exorcise and drive out dark and hostile forces wherever they are found, from both the people and the land; second, to minister to the people and heal them, restoring them to a Spirit-connectedness; and third, to bear forth the Word of the Lord and the good news of the dawn of Messianic consciousness. Hence, it is the ministry of the exorcist, the healer, and the preacher-prophet to which the elect in Christ are called—a holy priesthood in which the initiate is a conscious agent and vehicle of God’s Will on earth. This calling is, by nature, both mystical and magical.
We are called to actively bear forth the Divine presence and power. Receiving, we are called to share and give of ourselves and what we have received, that the Light might be in extension and others might also receive and so be joined to the mystical body of Christ. We do not seek to receive for ourselves alone, but in order to be empowered and have something to share and give to others. Our aim as initiates in the Christ-Spirit is to be channels of God’s Grace, vehicles of his continual outpouring of blessings. Yet in the process of sharing and giving of ourselves and what we have received, we must be alert and act with awareness, seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit regarding God’s Will. Every individual is unique and different, and their needs are different. Likewise, everyone has a different capacity to receive and can only receive within their capacity. In terms of spiritual matters and esoteric wisdom, some individuals have no desire to receive and therefore no capacity of reception. In the activity of the ministry to which we are called, we must learn to pray, meditate, and seek in Spirit when and what to share with each individual. Like the tzaddik, we must act only with Divine permission and authority.
Here, the Master makes it clear that the esoteric wisdom, the inner and secret teachings, are not for everyone. While outer teachings may be more freely shared, the inner and secret level of the teachings must be shared only under the guidance of the Holy Spirit with those who are ready to receive them and who will not profane them. We are charged to share and give what we have received, for only in this way is our reception fulfilled, but we must impart the transmission consciously, with discernment and with skillful methods, giving to each person what the Spirit would have us give and what is good for them.
We are, indeed, spiritual warriors in a battle of cosmic forces, seeking to win the enlightenment and liberation of as many souls as we possibly can for the sake of heaven. Yet only those souls ripe for redemption can be won over. We must understand that there shall be many not ripe as yet, some actually perverse, for whom we can do nothing at all, save pray for them and offer them up before the Lord. As much as we are to extend the Light here below, so are we to accomplish a balance, harmony, and unification in the Upper World. Hence, in the midst of our ministry, we must be conscious of that which is transpiring behind that which appears and respond accordingly. Not by way of a judgment based upon external appearance are we to respond, but by way of an interior discernment of what is transpiring within and behind appearances. For such interior discrimination, we must rely upon the Holy Spirit to instruct, inspire, and guide us.
Now this is true of the teachings and initiations we receive from our holy tzaddik, and the knowledge and wisdom we gather from our studies and contemplations. It is even more true of our personal spiritual experiences. Knowledge of our experiences and the experiences themselves should be shared only with the greatest level of discrimination and only when there is a clear good to be accomplished in so doing. We speak freely with our tzaddik regarding experiences in prayer, meditation, and ritual, as well as the dreams and visions that may come, for our tzaddik is our spiritual mentor and there must be an open and honest exchange for our tzaddik to accomplish his or her mission with us. Yet outside of this sacred friendship, we must be very careful with whom we share our spiritual experiences. It is possible that we might taint the experience ourselves through the wrong motivation in sharing it, or in sharing it with the wrong person, we might form a link to a dark or hostile force and so bring unwholesome influences into our continuum. This forms a deeper level of understanding of what the Master is saying.
Do not be selfish and withhold yourself from sharing, nor be afraid to share and give of the Light you receive, but be awake and alert as you share and follow the guidance of the holy Shekinah. When she is present, share freely; when she departs, be silent and go on your way. If you remain always open and sensitive to her, you will always know where she leads you. Although there may be some trial and error along the way, nevertheless, learn from your mistakes and continue as her companion, letting your Light shine to illuminate the world. Lord, guide us as we let our Light shine! Amen.
