‘Walter’, My Secret Life, 1888. Amsterdam Believed to the diaries of Henry Spencer Ashbee (1834–1900) recounting his sexual life from boyhood onwards. They were banned due to their explicit nature and it was not until 1995 that the work was published in its entirety, without censorship or prosecution, in Britain.
