Old Money, Old Problems

One of the most stubborn inequalities in the U.S. remains the wealth gap between white and nonwhite households. For every dollar of wealth a typical white household has, a Black household has 12 cents, a divide that’s grown over the past half-century. Hispanic households have 21 cents for every dollar in white wealth.
