The Turning Point
‘To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.’
Ecclesiastes
A new cycle is about to begin. After a period of stagnation or confusion, the tide is now turning. The situation will unfold in its own way. Don’t try to force developments. Your position is not yet strong enough for you to push ahead. The turning point is linked with the month of the winter solstice when the new light is born again after the darkness of winter. All movement, the hexagram tells us, is accomplished in six stages and the seventh brings return – seven being a symbol for a complete period of time. Underlying all natural change is a consistent rhythm: as night comes to an end, light returns with the dawn; winter draws to its close and we know spring is near. All that you need do is tune in to this natural rhythm as it manifests in your own life. Right now, this means relaxing and conserving your energies.
An opportunity for personal growth
After a difficult time, you begin to experience renewed energy and optimism. Fresh possibilities beckon. You may feel ready to take action. But this would be premature. Be patient. Take time to reflect on the cycle now ending. Difficulties arose because you were not being true to yourself. Your actions and the choices you made were based on a negative point of view. In other words, your own attitudes helped to create the problems. What matters most now is to believe in yourself. Understanding this is the key to your future well-being. Then you can make a fresh start with every chance of success. New relationships are indicated, or new levels of closeness and understanding in existing relationships.
Further aspects of the situation
NINE AT THE BEGINNING
If you are contemplating a slightly dubious course of action, go no further. Do only what your conscience tells you is right. No other consideration should influence you. If you act from the right motives, everything will turn out very well.
SIX IN THE SECOND PLACE
Listen and learn from others whose views you respect. This will strengthen your own insights and help you make the right decisions.
SIX IN THE THIRD PLACE
The grass may look greener elsewhere. But in your heart you know which way you must go. Don’t be tempted to abandon your chosen path. Learn to persevere.
SIX IN THE FOURTH PLACE
You have outgrown the people around you. Don’t force yourself to try and fit in with them. Stand up for what you believe to be right. It is best to be true to yourself even if this means being alone for a while. Inner freedom and independence are too precious to be compromised.
SIX IN THE FIFTH PLACE
You realize that a new beginning is called for. Don’t waste time regretting the past. All that matters is that you have now made the right decision.
SIX AT THE TOP
You have obstinately insisted on going your own way – down quite the wrong path. Now you have missed the right moment to make a change for the better. Any move you try to make will only make matters worse. All you can do is wait patiently until a new opportunity becomes available.
