Facing Obstruction
‘We shall not fail or falter; we shall not weaken or tire.’
Sir Winston Churchill
In the face of apparently insurmountable problems, you feel stuck. There seems to be no way forward. Whatever you do fails to have any real effect. In fact the more you struggle to resolve the issue, the worse matters become. The answer is to stop trying to make things work. Accept that you simply don’t know what to do. What is clear is that your current strategy is not effective. You need to explore other avenues of approach. But, as things stand, you can no longer see the wood for the trees. How are you to arrive at a more detached point of view? The answer is to let go of your involvement in the situation for the time being. This does not mean simply giving up. On the contrary, you must be absolutely determined to achieve your aim. But the first step towards success is to disengage yourself from a position which is obviously leading nowhere.
An opportunity for personal growth
It is unproductive to blame other people, or circumstances, for the current problems. The real obstacle to progress lies within yourself. A change of attitude is called for. Then you will be able to move forward. Looked at in this way, an apparently frustrating situation can become a useful source of information. It indicates that you have something to learn. Do you, for instance, expect too much of other people? Or perhaps you make unrealistic demands of yourself or are too impatient for results. In one way or another, this is a golden opportunity for self-development. To make the most of it, don’t be too proud to ask for advice and support. Approach people who understand what you are hoping to achieve. Their input, coming from a different perspective, will inspire you and help revive your spirits.
Further aspects of the situation
SIX AT THE BEGINNING
Hold back and do nothing for the moment. Trying to force the issue would be counterproductive. The opportunity to take further action will come in due course.
SIX IN THE SECOND PLACE
Like it or not, you have to tackle the problem head on. There is no choice. Any misgivings must take second place to your wider responsibilities.
NINE IN THE THIRD PLACE
It is not safe to take direct action, however tempted you are to do so. You would put at risk both your own security and that of others.
SIX IN THE FOURTH PLACE
You do not have the necessary resources to deal with the situation by yourself. Accept help from people you know are dependable and trustworthy.
NINE IN THE FIFTH PLACE
In spite of serious obstacles, you must refuse to be deflected from your goal. Be absolutely determined to face the difficulties and resolve them. You will attract help from people who are impressed by your strength of character. They will therefore be willing to cooperate with you. The results will be beneficial to all concerned.
SIX AT THE TOP
You may be tempted to bury your head in the sand and pretend that the problems are not your concern. But the truth is that you have a responsibility to be involved. In order to resolve the situation, a cooperative effort is needed, and your particular input is essential to a successful outcome.
