Gathering Together
‘Come then, let us go forward together with our united strength.’
Sir Winston Churchill
When people gather together in large groups such as families or organizations, there are times when conflict is inevitable. Yet it is to everybody’s advantage for the group to work harmoniously. If people are pulling in different directions, the community will fall apart. Whatever your position in the group, be prepared to play your part unselfishly. As a member of the community, give your support to the leader. If you have a position of responsibility or leadership, give the best of which you are capable to the group. No matter what the circumstances may be, stand up for what you know to be true. Keep on your toes. If you can anticipate potential difficulties, you can take appropriate steps to nip them in the bud. Try to act in the best interests of all concerned.
An opportunity for personal growth
You must keep yourself together. This is especially true if you are in a position of leadership. If you are in conflict with yourself, you will accomplish nothing. Keep your goal firmly in mind. If there are difficulties in your environment, do not be thrown off balance. Let nothing shake your faith in yourself and what you are doing. Whatever the challenges you face, you must remain calm. Live up to the best in yourself and do what you know to be right and true. If people know they can depend on you, they will give you their confidence and respect.
Further aspects of the situation
SIX AT THE BEGINNING
You may be confused and therefore hesitant about committing yourself. Do not be discouraged if things are not going according to plan. Help is at hand. You have only to ask for it.
SIX IN THE SECOND PLACE
If you feel attracted to a particular group or organization, trust your instincts. You would be right to join. Because a natural empathy exists between you and those involved, you will be accepted without difficulty. It is a case of discovering kindred spirits.
SIX IN THE THIRD PLACE
The group you would like to join is a closed circle. Do not try to push your way in. Swallow your pride and take a more humble approach. Make an ally of somebody whose position within the group is already well established. Let them introduce you.
NINE IN THE FOURTH PLACE
Your motives are impeccable. You have sacrificed self-interest in order to work for the greater good of the whole. This will bring you great success.
NINE IN THE FIFTH PLACE
A person who has the role of leader cannot depend on their position alone to win respect. He or she has to earn the trust of others by virtue of their personal qualities. They must demonstrate a whole-hearted commitment to the well-being of the group.
SIX AT THE TOP
Your efforts to make a contribution are not appreciated. But this is not your fault. Your motives have been misunderstood. Do not try to hide the fact that you feel hurt. This may cause the person or people concerned to revise their opinions.
