Day 23
And in the next day, I woke up early to get some breakfast and prepare lunch earlier too. I didn’t want to miss the psychological exam and fail the final test… Therefore, I had to be prepared for it.
And I did: I had lunch at 11 AM and left my house at 1 PM. I had plenty of time to get there at the Central Plaza, a known place here in the city of Arlington. But on my way to the exam, I heard someone screaming.
- “Please, help! I’ve been robbed!” The voice said.
I stopped immediately and looked around. I saw an old lady begging for help and I thought “well, I’ve got some spare time to lend her a hand…”
- “Good afternoon, madam.” I said. “What’s the matter?”
- “Son, please help! Some goons came after me, they’ve been following me for the past 5 blocks, and they took my purse! They were headed that way; please can you call the cops for me?”
- “Don’t worry madam, I will go after them.” I said.
- “Please don’t, son! It’s dangerous…” She said.
- “You have nothing to worry about. I’ll just take a look and see if I can locate them for the police.” I said.
I entered the narrow alley where the goons had escaped through and I followed their steps. I continued walking and I ran into some dangerous fellows, but no one was holding any purse. I had to go deeper.
“Whoever stole that purse must be really far away now…” I thought
And then, I saw two guys walking and laughing with a purse in their hands. A lady’s purse. It was obvious that the purse didn’t belong to neither of them.
- “Hold it right there! Please give that purse back!” I screamed.
The two lads stopped and looked back. There were two of them, and only one of me. Of course, they weren’t scared.
- “What’s that again?” He asked.
- “Mind your own business, dude. Get out of here before you get hurt.” The other one of them said.
- “I just want to give that old lady her purse… Please, give it back. No one has to get hurt.” I said, trying to control the situation.
- “No way! You’re gonna learn a hard lesson now, dude!” They said.
And the two of them ran after me. Scared, I decided to run too because I have never been a good fighter, especially against two opponents at the same time. As I ran through the alleys and streets, I passed by a clock which indicated the time: 1:45 PM. And I was still pretty far from the Central Plaza, 15 minutes or farther.
- “I’m done… I failed the test and lost the opportunity of my life… I will never be able to become Herobrine again, but now I gotta find a way to lose these guys and get the purse back.” I thought to myself.
But then, not knowing the neighborhood where we were, I ran into a dead end. The two goons approached me with the purse, and now I could only do one thing: fight for my own safety and the purse.
- “I have never been a good fighter… I am weak, I know. But if I need to take you two down to recover the purse of that old lady, I will!” I said, raising my fists.
But instead of fighting, the two goons came closer and clapped their hands.
- “Wha… What?!” I was confused.
- “Congratulations, Angie. You’ve passed your psychological exam!” One of them said, removing the disguise and revealing his true identity: it was one of the Herobrines from the Agency!
The other one also removed his disguise.
- “Nicely done. You really got what it takes to become one of us.”
- “But… And the exam… The old lady…” I said.
- “The old lady was Carley in a disguise. And the exam was this one. If you ignored the old lady and proceeded to the Central Plaza, you would fail the final test because if you are a Herobrine, you can never turn your back to someone in need. No matter what’s the case, this is the main principle of becoming Herobrine.”
- “You didn’t waste a single minute to think about the situation, and you didn’t hesitate in going after the goons despite knowing it could be dangerous.” The other one said.
- “But the physical test…? I failed that one.” I said.
- “The physical test was nothing more than a distraction. All of the tasks are impossible for a normal human that is for sure. Most people who go through the first physical test and fail, usually go to the second psychological exam with an enormous pressure on their shoulders: ‘I failed the physical test, now I MUST pass the next exam otherwise I won’t become Herobrine. And when they do that, they always ignore the old lady who is begging for help.”
- “Exactly! They’re always so focused about not failing the psychological test at Central Plaza, that they ignore everything and everyone on their way. Many humans have failed this test because of that. And you passed because you got what it takes, the wish to help others.” The other Herobrine added.
- “I understand… Very clever! So, I passed the test?” I asked them.
- “Yes, you did!” Carley said, coming from the alley. “Now you’re free to head home and rest. We’ll prepare the final arrangements tomorrow.” And they all disappeared.
I headed home, happy to know that I would be a Herobrine now. Unfortunately, that meant not living with my brother anymore, but it was for the best. The best of humanity!
