SOOTHE AWAY WORRIES WITH MANTRAS
A mantra is a short word or phrase that you can say to help centre yourself. They’re often used in meditation as repeating the sounds helps to bring your mind into a calmer, clearer state, but they can be used at any time. They can also be used for all manner of situations: to help you to control anger, to motivate you, to boost your self-confidence or, in this case, to bring you calm. Some phrases you might want to try are: ‘I breathe in. I breathe out’, ‘Just keep going’, ‘All is well’, or ‘This feeling will pass’. At stressful moments, say these to yourself quietly and slowly, close your eyes if you would like and slow your breathing. By doing so, you will interrupt your feelings of stress and bring yourself back to the present moment. Saying a mantra can also be soothing, and you will be a voice of comfort to yourself.
Smile, breathe and go slowly.
AFTER A STORM COMES A CALM.
