Seek First the Kingdom
The world will tell you to “look out for number one” and to seek your own happiness in life. But the Bible says the exact opposite. God says, “Seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness and all other things will be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). You see, while you may be quite near the center of the universe, you are not the center of the universe. God is. And one of the main reasons He created you, is to glorify Him through our worship and relationship with Him, and by extension, others. God made the universe, the earth, and people like us so He could have someone to talk to, someone to do things with, and someone to love. He is the most famous and talked-about person in all history. The Bible says that God’s fame is a part of His “glory.” And when you talk to God, and give God His rightful place as your leader in life, you bring Him even greater glory (and you make Him happy)! God has promised those who are His children that, when we place our faith in Him and make His Son Jesus our Lord and Savior, He will add everything else that we need in our lives, and that He will give us above and beyond what we could ever imagine. When you delight yourself in the LORD, He will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4).
