Chapter 28

The “Lesser of Two Evils” Is Still Evil!

The world says that we must choose the “lesser of two evils” when faced with two imperfect choices. But God says that we “must never do evil that good may come of it” (Romans 3:8). Charles Spurgeon, the most famous theologian of the last 300 years, famously said, “When faced with two evils, choose neither.” While you may be ridiculed for not going along with the crowd, or for not supporting the “lesser of two evils,” you can sleep soundly with a clear conscience knowing that when you stand with God in opposition to all evil, you are always acting in obedience to Him: “Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart” (Psalm 119:2).
