The Main Function of Biblical Government Is to Reward the Righteous and Punish the Wicked (Romans 13)
You will be told that government exists to provide healthcare and welfare for the poor and to generally “spread the wealth.” Not true. The primary purpose of civil government is to protect God-given rights by ensuring justice for the innocent, especially the rights to life, liberty, and private property. Your right to your own life, to protect and defend yourself, your family, and your property, as well as your right to freely assemble to worship God, to criticize the government, to pursue happiness, and to preach the Gospel are God-given rights that no man may grant or take away! Government exists to secure these God-given rights! Any civil magistrate at any level or branch of government who fails to protect and defend these God-given inalienable rights is in violation of his oath and should be removed from office. Additionally you have a duty to oppose and expose any such enemies of liberty and freedom!
