Tommy Chong—the comedian best known for his stoner movies with Cheech Marin—was the impresario of Chong Glass, a small outfit that made beautiful smoking paraphernalia (bongs and various pipes). As part of the Drug Enforcement Administration's spring 2003 crackdown on Web-based sellers of toking equipment—Operation Pipe Dreams and Operation Headhunter—Chong's home was raided, and the feds seized all the goods from his business. Around three months later, Chong pled guilty to conspiring to sell drug paraphernalia and was sentenced to nine months in the clink, plus one year probation.
