READY, SET, GO!
I SEE YOU!
LOOK CAREFULLY. THE WORD WILL REVEAL ITSELF EVENTUALLY!
PREPARATION
Each player thinks of a seven- to ten-letter word. Without showing anyone, players write the word down with spaces in between the letters in order to place ten other random letters in between the letters in the word.
A word such as computer would look something like this:
C L K A O M U R P U S Y O T I E A R
(The letters of the word computer are only underlined for this example to show you where it is in the long line of letters.)
OBJECTIVE
Players attempt to be the first to find the hidden word!
GAME TIME
Player 1 goes first and reads his long list of letters from left to right so everyone can write them down. Players begin to try and find the word and guess what it is. Every 20 seconds, Player 1 tells the other players to cross out a specific letter (one of the letters which is not in the word). Using the above example, he may say things like “Cross out the K” or “Cross out the first A” or “Cross out the last O.” The first person to guess the word wins the round and earns points (see “Scoring”).
Player 2 then reads her list of letters, and so on.
SCORING
The sooner a player guesses the word, the more points he or she earns. If a player guesses the word before Player 1 crosses off the first letter, he or she earns 100 points. For every letter Player 1 crosses off, players earn 10 points less (subtracting from 100). (For example, if you guess the word after Player 1 crosses off four letters, you earn 60 points.) The first player to 500 points wins!
