READY, SET, GO!
THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT
THIS SPEEDY CHALLENGE IS PERFECT FOR FANS OF POP CULTURE.
PREPARATION
Player 1 thinks of an actor and a movie and gives a three-letter clue. The first two are the first letters of the actor’s first and last names; the third letter is the first letter of the title of a movie he or she starred in.
TIP: Be sure to leave the articles (the, a, an) out of the movie titles.
OBJECTIVE
Players attempt to be the first to guess the actor and movie, singer and band, author and book, etc.
GAME TIME (ACTORS AND MOVIES)
Players have 60 seconds to guess the actor and movie based solely on the three letters. If no one can guess it within 60 seconds, players take turns asking for additional clues, such as, “Give us the second letter of the actor’s first name” or “Give us the second letter of the movie title.” The first player to guess the actor and the movie wins the round and receives points (see “Scoring”).
Player 2 now thinks of an actor and a movie, gives a three-letter clue, and so on.
SCORING
If a player guesses correctly in the first 60 seconds, he or she earns 10 points. After each additional clue, subtract 2 points from 10. (In other words, if someone guesses the actor and movie correctly after one clue, that player earns 8 points; after two clues, 6 points; three clues, 4 points; four clues, 2 points.) Players can earn only 1 point after more than four clues have been given. The first player to earn 50 points wins!
