PICK A THEME, PICK YOUR TEAMS, AND SEE WHO CAN MAKE ALL THE MATCHES.

TIP: A “Match ’Em Up” game board can be created using any of several different themes. The most popular themes are typically movies, TV shows, music, sports, books, or geography, but depending on the interests of the group, there are many more possibilities. (The following description will use movies and actors.)

PREPARATION (MOVIES AND ACTORS)

The game board consists of two columns. The first column lists twenty movies, and the second lists twenty actors in random order. Each movie must match with one of the actors in the second column.

TIP: There are two ways to make a movie “Match ’Em Up” puzzle more challenging:

1.    Include actors who people may forget were in the movies you have selected.

2.    Include actors who have been in more than one of your selected movies.

(Similarly, for sports, you might list athletes in one column and their matching teams in the other, but to make it more challenging, you could include lesser-known players of a sport and/or players who have played on more than one of the teams in the other column.)

GAME TIME (MOVIES AND ACTORS)

Show the game board to the teams in your group at the same time. The first team to figure out all twenty matches wins.
