Transitioning to Raw Foods: Detoxification and Regeneration

We understand that every life process is reversible. It might take from a few months to many years to make the transition back to the most fitting diet for the human being, but once we embark on the path, the benefits will be worth the effort.

— David Wolfe

In his book The Sunfood Diet Success System, author David Wolfe simply suggests eating basically whatever kind of organically grown, locally produced, raw, plant foods you like in whatever quantities you like as the best way to begin a living-foods diet. He also notes that finding a balance among leafy greens, sweet fruits, and fats is essential.

This total raw-foods diet is inherently non-toxic. However, once on this diet of all raw foods, extra pounds and stored toxins will begin to release into the system. This initial detoxification phase of the transition from a standard American diet to raw foods can take from several months to a year or two. Detoxification reactions can be severe and are to be avoided whenever possible. A slow steady detoxification is ideal. If difficulty arises, the process can be dramatically improved by use of complex homeopathic formulas designed specifically for the various phases of detoxification.

Increasing pure water intake is most helpful. Increasing the content of leafy greens in your diet over time, as well as homeopathic support for the major organs of elimination will strengthen the digestive system and ease the detoxification process, helping to smooth potentially uncomfortable reactions.

When detoxification is accomplished, regeneration will be naturally freer to occur as the natural next phase of the transition from a cooked to raw-foods diet. However, this process too can be difficult to start and maintain for some people. Again, homeopathic regeneration formulas are an indispensable aid, following significant detoxification, in establishing the regeneration process. Complex formulae are organ-specific and are designed to stimulate the pituitary gland to send its regeneration signals to the rest of the body.*

When children have been on a standard diet of processed foods for a number of years, they too can exhibit some signs of discomfort due to elimination of toxins from their bodies once on a raw-foods-dominant diet. Increasing pure water intake over an extended period will usually be enough to catch them up to a relatively non-toxic state. If you sense that toxins or imbalances are persisting, many forms of bioenergetic testing exist that can quickly and accurately pinpoint problem toxins and deficiencies that have become deeply seated and, for whatever reasons, do not seem to respond to diet and the cleansing effects of increased water intake over time.
