Sea Vegetables and the Homeopathic Ocean

Everything that exists anywhere in the earth, or above it, finds its way at last into the sea. Every element necessary for life is present everywhere in the sea.

— D.C. Jarvis, M.D.

Samuel Hahnemann discovered homeopathic principles late in the eighteenth century. He proved that very small doses (microdoses) of substances have therapeutic effects. But Hahnemann went further; his special method of preparing microdoses from various substances is generally known as “potentization.”

Mainstream science has not yet fully explained how homeopathy works. The process of potentization somehow accomplishes the development of subtle energetic patterns, also known as biosynerforms, a term coined by Dr. Roy Martina, that the body can use in many ways to restore balance. Homeopathy literally means similar disease. Hahnemann found that microdoses of herbs would produce a particular pattern of symptoms when given to healthy people. Each herb, when prepared homeopathically, produces its own characteristic pattern of symptoms. When an ill person’s symptom picture can be matched with that produced by a homeopathic remedy, a curative process is often begun. This principle is known as “like cures like.” Hahnemann’s peculiar discovery, potentization, is a serial dilution and succussion (percussive shaking) of prescribed parts of plant tincture and water. It might go something like this: One part of a substance to be prepared is placed together with nine parts of the carrier, often distilled water and succussed one-hundred times. This diluted, succussed mixture is known as a 1x potency. To create a 2x potency the process is repeated by removing one part of the 1x solution, combining it with another nine parts water, and repeating the succussion. At approximately 24x potency none of the original physical substance is left in the preparation. However, potency increases the more the serial dilution/succussion, or potentization, continues.

Complex forms of homeopathy have been developed that employ substances other than the traditional plants used in classical homeopathy. Minerals, for instance, that have undergone potentization have unique properties. Embryonic plant buds, at low potencies, have unique rejuvenative effects. Following the principle of like cures like, many toxic substances have also been processed homeopathically to produce toxin-specific remedies.

The world ocean has become a repository for all manner of substances, both beneficial and toxic. This ocean, and its million miles of coastline worldwide, is the natural laboratory in which dilution and succussion of this complex mix of elements is constantly taking place. Looking at the world ocean through this homeopathic lens, it is easy to understand how healing potential is present in the sea and sea vegetables via, among other things, the ongoing, natural homeopathic process.

Nori and dulse, especially nori sheets, are fave-rave snacks among the kiddies. Playing on the beach and breathing sun-charged ocean mist is also a favorite. Sea vegetables appear to be the “green foods” that work to continuously rebalance the human organism with the most oomph from many angles. On ocean-going ships in the past, sea water, for instance, was often used in place of blood for transfusions. Its mineral content and general composition is almost identical to human blood.

We recommend that you incorporate sea vegetables into your diet. Sea vegetables are superfoods in their own special right whose dynamic influence for vibrant health and probable proactive, homeopathically supplemented, panacea-like qualities deserve further exploration. You can rotate among the several varieties. Not only is vitamin B-12 present in many sea vegetables, but also existent are astounding arrays of elements, both nutritional and healing, as yet unidentified but predictable via the above mentioned natural homeopathic process. If you garden, incredibly healthful foods can be grown in soil where sea vegetables are either prepared biodynamically or through regular composting worked into the soil. Forewarned is forearmed: Enjoy the beach!

  RADIATION, CHILDREN, AND SEA VEGETABLES

Infants and young children are among the most susceptible groups when it comes to the various forms of radiation exposure; the other groups are the elderly and people in poor health. The so-called “safe doses” of radiation that have traditionally been issued by the government are meaningless because radiation is cumulative.

The raw-foods-dominant diet is a good place to start for protection against the dangers of radiation. First, it promotes a high level of health, generally reducing susceptibility to radiation. Second, raw foods keep the body more alkaline, which also reduces susceptibility. Third, a raw-foods-dominant diet has a far higher mineral profile, which is also key in protection against radiation.

Sea vegetables in particular have the ability to chelate or draw radioactive particles to them and pass them out of the body harmlessly. Sodium alginate is the chelator found most prolifically in the kelp family that removes the most radioactive material. The kelp family includes kelp, hijiki, arame, and wakame. Sea vegetables can also chelate plutonium, lead, cesium, and cadmium. Sea vegetables contain all minerals and trace elements that humans require and are high in chlorophyll, enzymes, vitamin A, and all the B vitamins. As mentioned earlier, they are a great source of B-12. The merchant, Maine Coast Sea Vegetables, is an excellent source of sun-dried sea vegetables. Maine Coast monitors their harvest extensively for the presence of toxins.
