I’m beginning to understand something of the psychology of agriculture. For instance, I don’t think as much about the weather or other colors or qualities in the landscape as aesthetic. It’s like, there’s no bad or good weather, there’s just practical circumstances. Crisp and clear—check the water hasn’t frozen. Windy—make sure the big door is fixed to the wall. Rainy—wear something sensible.

Leaves turning—maybe time for winter feed. But I guess there’s a beauty inherent in all this.
