10.10 Summary
While reading this chapter, you were exposed to the functionalities and capabilities of SAP BPM. We started by exploring the SAP NetWeaver Development Studio tool used to model and build deployable processes. We looked at how SAP NetWeaver Development Studio can be configured and set up.
The chapter also explored various technical and configuration aspects of all important BPM objects supported by SAP BPM. These flow objects are categorized in different groups, and this chapter explored the following:
- Events
- Activities
- Gateways
- Artifacts
The details and roles of each one of those flow objects was explored and their attributes described. We further investigated some advanced mapping techniques, error handling aspects, and compiling and deploying the process in the SAP PO server.
We closed the chapter with a closer look at the different possible ways to integrate and combine SAP BPM and the AEX to realize the full potential of what SAP PO has to offer. This ESB (AEX) and SAP BPM engine combo creates a unique and powerful platform for you to direct your orchestration’s orchestra.
The next chapter will touch on some advanced SAP BPM concepts and extensions.
