18.7 Summary
This chapter started by exploring the concepts of the component model. It explained how the component model can be used to increase reusability and better organize your DCs during development activities. The chapter also provided an overview of other useful components and applications that can be used in combination with SAP PO. These components are extensive and could use a chapter of their own. The different sections of this chapter only highlighted certain features and how they can further enhance the functionalities provided by SAP PO. Within that context, we also reviewed the SAP NetWeaver development infrastructure and explored its features and how it can support SAP PO Java-based development activities using the DTR, CBS, and CM Services. We also briefly touched on subjects such as SAP CAF and the Service Registry.
Finally, we explored some aspects of transporting SAP PO development objects, including the need to integrate the CM Services and CTS+.
The next chapter of this book is about SAP PO landscape considerations. The chapter will focus on planning the setup and architecture of your new SAP PO installation.
