Love’s surviving warnings for the period January 1765 to April 1774 are housed in several repositories, as indicated below. Love created three copies: logbook entries, warrants returned to the county court, and pages delivered to the Boston overseers of the poor. For some dates, only one of these copies survives; for others, two or more exist. Less frequently, none of Love’s manuscript warnings have come to light, but the town clerk’s Warning Out book summarizes Love’s activity. In this key, the Warning Out books are listed only if they contain the single surviving record of a particular warning. Note that these Warning Out books include almost all of Love’s otherwise documented warnings, but occasionally the town clerk omitted or garbled the information.1
