On an air mattress
In a small lake
Or is it a large pond?
On a farm
In Savo
I lay motionless
In my bathing suit
Absorbing the sunrays
Alternating
On my back
And on my stomach
Hearing the happy sounds
Carried over the water
They are making hay
Playing football
Singing old songs
and laughing
The sounds become diffused
As I drift into reverie
Into semi-euphoria
Bathing in contentment
And it is almost worth
The sunburn I have
In the evening.
