Microsoft Flow is an online workflow engine that can be used to automate tasks across various applications and services. A Microsoft Flow workflow is built using a combination of triggers and actions. A single workflow can combine triggers and actions across different applications.

With Microsoft Flow, you are not limited to automating Microsoft applications. There are a wide variety of application connectors in Microsoft Flow. Some require a premium plan, as shown in the following examples:

You begin by creating a Flow connector to your Business Central environment. This allows you to access entities within Business Central and create workflows based on a predetermined set of triggers.

Within your workflow, you also have the ability to build in conditional logic controls and processing controls such as loops, switches, and terminates. You are also able to create data-driven triggers and actions, based on the data available from Business Central.

The workflow will execute on a frequency that's based on the Microsoft Flow plan that you're subscribed to.
