Simple Faith

Simple faith—so simple, yet so complex to some;

They cannot fathom how our God

To heav’n would let us come

Without long list of good we did

Nor resume complete

With our successes on this earth;

With which we can compete.

Yet, all that’s needed and required,

A simple faith in Him,

Accepting Him to pay our debt

And wash clean all our sin.

He cleanses souls, enabling us

To live forever in heaven,

If we’ll accept in simple faith,

The gift so freely given.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

—Eph. 2:8-9 (NKJV)
