Passage of Time

Seems like only yesterday, the youngest one was me;

I was the one without a care who sat at Mother’s knee.

And now so many years have passed, I find I am the older;

Looking to my children for advice and for a shoulder

To lean upon when I need help; I’m so thankful God did lend

These children to me for they’re part of strength He said He’d send.

He’s given me the promised strength through my life’s trials and stress

And now it’s passed on to my girls—His love could do no less!
