Wanted: A Clean House

This body You’ve made is incredible,

The way it’s sustained all these years.

It continues to function day after day,

Right down to the laughter and tears.

You’ve also provided guidance

To those who are saved by Your grace.

The wonderful Holy Spirit

To comfort and guide in Christ’s place.

But this body You’ve made,

Where the Spirit’s to dwell,

How well is it maintained for Thee?

Do love, grace, and mercy live in this place,

Or does it exist just for me?

Help me, oh Lord, to deal with these sins—

The greed, the impatience, the pride.

And all other sin that clutters my soul,

So a clean place You’ll have to abide.

“Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.”

—Eph. 4:31 (NKJV)
