Today, I’m one year older,
Another benchmark passed.
A time of introspection:
The years fly by so fast.
Am I in the place I should be
In this journey we call life?
Sometimes my eyes stray from the goal,
Thereby causing pain and strife.
The rabbit trails I’ve followed,
Which took me nowhere fast.
Have led to times of sorrow;
Those consequences last.
But God, in all His goodness,
Protects me from all ill,
Helps me to find the better path,
Helps me to do His will.
I pray that in the time I’ve left,
My life will be a story of
The way the Lord has blessed me
And showered me with His love.
