Michael Wesley is one of the world’s leading experts on Asian and international affairs. His works have been featured in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times and the Economist. His previous book, There Goes the Neighbourhood: Australia and the Rise of Asia, won the 2011 John Button Prize. He has served as a senior intelligence official and head of the Lowy Institute for International Policy, and is currently Professor of International Affairs and Director of the Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs at the Australian National University.
